Send a Playa Card!
Check this out! You can now turn virtually any image in this site into a custom electronic greeting card and send it to your friends far and near. Is that cool or what? Once you find a picture you want to use, simply click the link above it and you'll be on your way.
Excercise Your Right to Vote!
One cool new feature you'll find inside is the ability to vote for your favorite image on the site. The Top 10 images earn a spot in the coveted section titled... well, Top 10. Ain't democracy cool?
Scribble Scribble Scribble!
The message boards return for their second fantastic year. As you move through the pages, leave your thoughts, notes, comments, or whatever behind for others to read. This has been called "...the single most fantastic innovation ever in the history of human communication..." by someone who I'm not allowed to identify.
Share that URL!
While going through the site, you might encounter a picture that a friend of yours just has to see. But wait, don't these frames make it difficult to link to a specific page? Usually, yes. But remember that you're dealing with the magical Playa Chicken here. On the top of every image page you'll find a link called "how to link to this page". Click it and we'll give you a special URL that your friend can use to call up that exact page. This has been around for two years now, but I guess it gets overlooked.
Is it Over?!
The year 2000 proved to be an interesting one for Burning Man. The weather was neurotic to say the least. The Man once again suffered a case of premature immolation. The population actually decreased from Friday to Saturday. Someone was actually issued a ticket for tinkling on the playa.

Through it all, the diligent staff of PlayaChicken.com was there to capture the memories in digital form so you can relive them now. Inside these walls of ones and zeros you'll find over 400 images that, taken individually or collectively, absolutely fail to convey what Burning Man is all about. And we wouldn't have it any other way.

Fake Out!
Are you looking for the Fake BMan2K site that used to live at this address? Since it has proven to be so popular, I'm keeping it alive here.
Bigger is Better!
Returning visitors will notice one significant change from our previous years: the images are a lot bigger. Thanks to its lucrative IPO, PlayaChicken.com was able to upgrade to a Coolpix 990 digital camera, and with it comes a few million more pixels per shot. Oh sure, we could put the raw 2048x1538 images up here, but that would cause a bit of a bandwidth problem. So, open your browser window up nice and wide and enjoy these swell 640x480 images.
